Thursday Night Market Returns - 4/6/2017

The Thursday Night Market returns to kick off its 21st season on Thursday April 6th!

The TNM features a Certified Farmers Market area, delicious locally prepared foods, arts and crafts, non-profit promotion, and live entertainment in various locations throughout the event. The market takes place every Thursday from April 6 through September 28, 6-9PM, rain or shine! The market is located in Downtown Chico on Broadway from 2nd to 5th Streets, including side streets on 3rd & 4th as well as City Plaza.  The area will be closed to vehicle traffic and pets are not permitted.

Guests are encouraged to come downtown to experience the wide variety of specialty retail shops, delicious restaurants, wine tasting, sweet treats, and art galleries the downtown has to offer. The market also hosts more than 100 popular vendors offering a wide variety of products and services. Certified growers offer the freshest assortment of fruits and vegetables, bouquets of fresh cut flowers, nuts, jams and spreads, honey, plant starts, and so much more. Vendors also provide authentic artwork and crafts as well as handmade clothing and jewelry.
Each week there is entertainment ranging from Hula dancers to balloon artists, and from emerging local singer/songwriters to classic jazz musicians to blues bands. The whole family will enjoy an evening at the market - with the designated KID ZONE in City Plaza and the many themed events as part of the City Plaza Nights event series. The market truly has something for everyone!

The TNM is certified by the USDA to accept and redeem SNAP Benefits which are issued by Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT).  This program offers SNAP Benefit recipients another opportunity to access fresh, healthy, locally-grown and processed foods! In addition, the market vendors also accept WIC and Senior FMNP food vouchers! Per Health Dept. code specifications, no animals are permitted within market boundaries and for the safety of market patrons, no bicycle riding, skateboarding or rollerskating is allowed. Additional safety measures will also be in place, including the presence of VIPs, Downtown Ambassadors and private security guards.
