KZFR is proud to Sponsor the Butte Environmental Council's 2020 Environmental Coalition Gathering
Friday, March 27th from 5:30-7:30pm at the Chico Women's Club
The Environmental Community Gathering is an annual event hosted by Butte Environmental Council and the Environmental Coalition of Butte County that aims to offer a lively and social capstone celebration to the Spring This Way to Sustainability Conference at CSU, Chico. This gathering showcases 20-35 Butte County groups, organizations and agencies working on various environmental issues in the North State and a no-host bar of Sierra Nevada Beer and local wines.
This event serves three main purposes:
1) Offer both conference attendees and the community at large a capstone event to share conversations and inspiration they received from the conference with like-minded individuals, harnessing momentum to create solutions to environmental issues.
2) Serve as a platform for local environmental organizations, groups and agencies to showcase their ongoing and recent efforts as well as present opportunities for involvement to those interested.
3) Provide avenues for students and residents of Butte County to become educated and connected to environmental work or volunteering in the area in efforts to bridge the gap between learning and action.

More about the Environmental Coalition of Butte County: The focus is to bring together local environmental organizations that meet regularly as a coalition. The purpose of the coalition is to strategically address some of the most important regional issue facing our community. In bringing together key environmental stakeholders, we can support and avoid duplicating efforts in addressing Climate Change locally, watchdogging our land, air and water, and collectively supporting one another's community environmental events to achieve a larger impact.
